New Order
If you consider yourself any kind of music fan of the 1980s then it's your duty to listen to New Order. So if you haven't then there's no better time then now because their first 5 albums have been remastered and reissued(all are double discs). Here's my standouts from each album.

The Killers - Spaceman
Therrrree Baackkk! With more Oh-Oh-Oh's to drown your whole pop collection. Brandon Flowers is the orginal gangsta dont front. So get ready for some high energy synth pop coming straight to your dome kid.

Chairlift- Bruises
So you have surely heard the new ipod nano commercial with this song. Ya apple knows how to pick these fucking cute little numbers. Its really genius. I bet there are gonna be a lot of people that hear the commercial and think this is Feist. You wait and see.

Salem- Brustreet
So this is pretty much a cover of Bruce Springsteen "Streets of Philadelphia". Which came out on the Philadelphia soundtrack. I loved both the movie and song when they first came out. The movie is still watchable but at parts is very dated. The song has always held up in my book as one of the most dark pop songs that had top 40 success to come out in 90s. The darkness gets stretched to limit in this version and its done perfectly.

Santogold- L.E.S. Artistes & You'll Find A Way
Ok I thought this chick was some rapper, I thought she was some wannabe M.I.A. Not only all that shit is completely backwards she reminds me of all the things I like about Gwen and Karen O. She does mix it up a bunch but I love the staight rock tracks she does, it makes me wanna say she could be a new age Blondie.

Wolf Parade- Bang The Drum
My first post with my new MacBook, I know pretty epic isn't it. I have like less then 40 songs in my itunes right now so not a lot to choose from. I just wanted to make a post because it's been approximately 18 months since my last post. Give me a week and I'll be back delivering the hits.

M83- We Own The Sky
This one brings to mind all those warm fuzzy feelings I had when I first heard 2003's "Run Into Flowers". It was then that M83 told me "even though its the chemicals. i want to run into." and i believed them partly because my head was filled with chemicals. But also because M83 is just the most magically sad inspiring thing around. No more chemicals but I'm getting that feeling again , I now own the sky.

It was 12am and the music disappeared
My mix tapes I feel are always pretty random but I always deliver the "hits". Also I feel my opening and closing tracks are always brillent selections. Also throwing in well placed gems from the past is a talent of mine, as i show at track #5 with a wonderful brit-pop classic from Pulp. But really my true gift is the ability to find the one song that really goes deep to the soul of myself and gives you a piece of me. With that I have given you track #10 Randy Newman's "I Love LA", my Lakers have been an inspiration for me all season.

Cut Off Your Hands- Closed Eyes
I contemplated which first 15 seconds are better, this or TPC "Nature of the Experiment". Its a tie! Any song that captures me so easily in the first 15 seconds is a winner in my book. Or in this case no winner just a tie.

The Long Blondes- Round The Hairpin
I can't believe this is The Long Blondes, this is one dark thriller of song. Its also completely furious and I would love to hear this live. Its also their best Wire imitation.

I know I'm starting to repeat myself and going back on my promise of not doing multiple posts with the same band. But seriously if you haven't listened to The Teenagers yet you are really missing out on some infectious ear candy. All I have to say is " the streets of Paris, man its crazy."

Glasvegas- Geraldine
I really try hard not to post multiple tracks by one band. But Glasvegas makes it fucking impossible. There is nothing coming close to this sound. It is raw emotion and it absolutely shreds me.

Club 8- Jesus, Walk With Me (Jimahl Rmx)
Really solid remix of this luscious Club 8 track that is part of their beautiful pop gem of an album "The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Dreaming", one that is up there with the best of 2008. The remix nearly clocks in at 8 minutes but it rides a seriously addictive groove that never sounds tiresome.
