The Raveonettes- Dead Sound

When I first heard the album "Chain Gang of Love" it sounded like innocence. Combined with a fuzzy minimal garage pop sound, it was candy. That album means just as much to me as "Is This It" and "Turn On The Bright Lights". Their last album "Pretty In Black" was nice but a little too sweet. "Lust Lust Lust" brings the raw fuzz with the right amount of sugar. I guess this is early favorite for best album 2008.

Another personal favorite of mine. This is the latest from these electronic pop stars that brought you the 2006 mega album "Bright Like Neon Love". We hear them seriously rocking out early on this before settling into a lush groove that tells us "This is real."

Voxtrot- Trouble

This really does sum up my exact feelings for this band.

"My love/hate relationship with Voxtrot continues. I love the fact that I love their songs. I hate the fact that their songs are so non-immediate. They require an investment (as do the best of things). My short-term attention spans sometimes misses out though and gets lazy. Fortunately I tend to come around."
